Transport bosses have issued a weekend warning to Metrolink commuters in Manchester city centre . They've revealed 'essential work' scheduled to take place at Trafford Bar will mean no trams will run between Cornbrook and Sale Water Park, East Didsbury or Old Trafford on Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2. Replacement buses will serve stops between East Didsbury and Manchester Victoria. Manchester Airport trams, meanwhile, will run to Sale Water Park. Join our Traffic and Travel WhatsApp group HERE Altrincham trams will run to Trafford Bar. Replacement buses will also run from Sale Water Park and Trafford Bar to and from the city centre. A host of other services changes this weekend have also been confirmed. Ian Davies, TfGM’s Network Director for Metrolink , said: "These works are essential to ensuring our tram works remains safe, reliable and resilient for years to and will help us meet increasing demand as more people choose to use to use the Bee Network to get around Greater Manchester. "The work has been planned for a weekend to minimise the impact on passengers, particularly those who rely on tram travel to get to work. We apologise for the disruption and thank everyone for bearing with us while this work is critical work is carried out. I would also encourage people to plan ahead using the Bee Network app or website.” Tram tickets will only be accepted on the replacement bus and will not be accepted on numbered bus services. Tram services will resume from the start of service on Monday 3 November.
