In a wild night of first-round Alabama high school football playoff matchups, Russell County may have given one of the best. Quarterback Bryson Riggins connected with wide receiver Noah Sterling for a 25-yard touchdown pass with just 8 seconds left to play as the Warriors secured a 33-30 victory over Gulf Shores on Friday at home. Watch the play below: Riggins finished the night 10-for-19 passing with 107 yards and three touchdowns, also running the ball 17 times for 156 yards and another score in the victory for Russell County. The score by Sterling was his fourth receiving touchdown of the season, with the receiver now scoring in the Warriors’ last three games. Russell County (10-1) will travel to Hueytown in the second round of the Class 6A playoffs on Friday.
