The sci-fi drama series stars Emmy nominee Rhea Seehorn, best known for Better Call Saul and Veep. The mysterious logline for Pluribus reads: "The most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness." Knowing what Gilligan cooked up with his Breaking Bad universe, expectations for Pluribus are already through the roof. Pluribus season 1 will consist of nine episodes, with the first two releasing on Friday. Since season 2 is already confirmed by Apple, Pluribus is bound to be one of the biggest new releases on the platform this year, and a likely Emmy contender. Mythic Quest Mythic Quest is one of Apple TV's very best comedy series. Starring Rob Mac (formerly known as Rob McElhenney) from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, the series follows the head of a video game company and his staff, both in and out of the office. Consisting of four seasons and 41 episodes, Mythic Quest earned a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score. The series successfully blends humor with interpersonal drama and features a great slate of likable characters you'll want to return to between episodes. It's Always Sunny collaborator Charlie Day co-created the series along with Megan Ganz, an Emmy-winning producer for Modern Family. If you like smart TV comedies like HBO's Silicon Valley, then Mythic Quest is a great binge option for you this week. Dickinson One of the very first Apple TV original series ever made, Dickinson remains one of the best comedy offerings on the streaming platform. The coming-of-age period drama stars Hailee Steinfeld, best known for The Edge of Seventeen and Sinners, as the famed poet Emily Dickinson. The Ringer Dickinson earned a 92% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics and audiences alike, including two perfect Certified Fresh 100% RT scores. This ensures that the series improves over time and concludes with a satisfying ending on a high note. The Ringer noted, "Dickinson has quietly perfected a mix of sitcom and sincerity." At 30 episodes across three seasons, Dickinson makes for a deeply engaging and widely celebrated week-long binge. Swagger Swagger may be the most overlooked Apple TV show on the streaming platform. Despite its 93% Rotten Tomatoes score and 96% audience score, it still feels like there was never enough buzz around the basketball drama series that was inspired by the real-life experiences of NBA superstar Kevin Durant. Swagger debuted in 2021 and ran for 18 episodes across two seasons before ending in 2023. Basketball fans will surely respect the authenticity of the storylines and actual gameplay on the court in this series, which is led by O'Shea Jackson Jr. As the Chicago Sun-Times noted, "Whether you're a basketball junkie or a casual fan, Swagger is an instantly captivating and authentic dramatic ride." If you've ever played AAU basketball or been around that culture, consider this series required viewing. Long Way Up Long Way Up is one of the few shows on Apple TV with a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. In this beloved travel series, Ewan McGregor and his friend Charley Boorman travel through Central and South America on Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The 2020 miniseries only has 11 episodes, making it entirely possible to binge it all before the weekend. It offers magnificent cinematography, fascinating adventures, and real-life conversations between McGregor, Boorman, and the various locals they encounter on their Easy Rider-esque journey. Long Way Up is arguably the best series of several similar travel shows, which include Long Way Round (2004), Long Way Down (2007), and the most recent installment, Long Way Home.
