The fourth edition of “Sandhya Marines Vizag Marathon” will be held on November 30, 2025. The Vizag Runners Society unveiled the T-shirt and medal at Novotel hotel, here, on Monday (October 27, 2025). Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) Commissioner Ketan Garg participated as the chief guest. The launch brought together community leaders, fitness enthusiasts, and marathon supporters in a vibrant celebration of health and unity. Bala Krishna Rai, president of the society, highlighted the marathon’s commitment to promoting a drug-free and eco-conscious Visakhapatnam. He explained the significance behind the T-shirt colours chosen for each edition, inspired by the five elements: white (air), blue (water), orange (fire), green (earth) for the first, second, third and fourth edition respectively. He said a good run, whether a kilometre or a marathon, is enough to clear the cobwebs and achieve a natural feeling of euphoria and enthusiasm. “Let’s start running for a drug-free Visakhapatnam,” he added. He also announced that 20 miler (32 K) category, inspired by the spiritual tradition of Giri Pradakshina — a 32-kilometre pilgrimage deeply rooted in the hearts of residents of Visakhapatnam for decades. The Vizag Runners Society is also offering free strength training sessions by professional coaches, monthly club runs to inspire a healthier lifestyle. The event was attended by several distinguished guests and sponsors: K. Categories: 5K, 10K, 21K, 32K Route Highlights The scenic course begins at Park Hotel junction, passes through iconic landmarks like the Aquarium and Ropeway, turns around at Film Nagar Club, and concludes at VMRDA Park.
