Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma gave an interview to Ravi Shastri and Adam Gilchrist after turning around their clock with a massive 178-run partnership against Australia in the third ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday (October 25) amid retirement rumours. Both players shut their critics with a statement display as India won the match by nine wickets with 69 balls to spare to ensure the Men in Blue avoided a series whitewash. Rohit hit the 33rd ton of his career with a knock of 121 runs in 125 balls. On the other hand, Kohli put behind two ducks in a row to end the series with a fluent unbeaten innings of 74 runs in 81 balls. After the game, Gilchrist wished the duo all the best for the 2027 World Cup. Both players admitted it was probably the last time they played in Australia. Kohli went out of his way to appreciate the Australian people for the support they have given him over the years. "We've loved coming to this country, we've played some good cricket, thank you guys for coming in big numbers and supporting us," said Kohli. 'Thank You Australia,' said Rohit at the same time. "I love playing in Australia and in general, Sydney. It's a great ground, great crowd, great pitch as well. So, when you come to places like this, you want to challenge yourself as a batter, as a player. And that is what I expected. I never thought for one second that it is going to be easy. I love doing what I do. And I hope I continue to do that," said Rohit on his playing in Australia. Rohit was awarded the Player of the Match (POTM) as well as the Player of the Series (POTS) award. The former Indian captain finished the series with 202 runs in three games at an average of 101 with a century and a half-century to his name.
