On Tuesday, the retired soccer star added a notable title to his long list of achievements after he was knighted by King Charles for his contributions and services to sports and charity. The power couple arrived for the investiture wearing matching dark blue ensembles. The former Spice Girl looked chic and elegant in her custom navy dress, similar to her eponymous brand’s Bela dress. The look featured a cinched waist, giving the outfit a subtle shape and an elongated asymmetric hem for a fashion-forward finish. As for the former Manchester United star, he received the honor in a three-piece suit from Victoria Beckham’s line. The father of four wore a custom morning suit crafted from a British wool-mohair blend, featuring a sharply tailored lapel for an elegant, sleek finish. Moreover, David Beckham’s outfit marked the debut of the first tailored menswear piece from his wife’s fashion label. Following the ceremony, the 51-year-old revealed the inspiration behind her husband’s look. In a post on her Instagram Stories, she shared that she drew inspiration from King Charles III’s signature morning suit, often seen during the Royal Ascot races. The 76-year-old royal, who is known for his impeccable traditional style, often reaches for the classic morning suit, which is considered a hallmark of British formal daywear. The singer-turned-fashion designer also gave her followers a closer look at the suit, showcasing its meticulous craftsmanship. On the other hand, the knighthood means that the soccer legend will be referred to as Sir David Beckham, while his wife now has the title of Lady Beckham. Apart from the duo, the ceremony was also attended by his parents, Ted Beckham and Sandra West, as well as the couple’s three children, Romeo Beckham, Cruz Beckham and Harper Beckham. The “Wannabe” hitmaker also marked the special moment by sharing a post on Instagram, showing highlights from the ceremony. In a lengthy message on Instagram, she expressed how proud she was of her husband for representing the country. “David, from the moment I met you 28 years ago, you’ve always been so proud to represent your country. Whether on or off the pitch, no one loves England or respects our Royal Family more, so to see you honoured by The King today is something I’ll forever cherish,” she wrote. She also noted that even after 30 years, David Beckham is still the “same kind, humble, and hardworking man” she first fell for. “I’ve never felt prouder than I do today. Sir @davidbeckham, we all love you so much,” she added.
