In view of Vice-President C.P. Radhakrishnan’s visit to Melkote in Mandya district on November 9, Deputy Commissioner Kumar has directed officials to ensure all necessary arrangements are made in an efficient manner. Chairing a review meeting with officials at the Melkote Guest House, the Deputy Commissioner said no lapses should be allowed during the preparations. He asked all the departments concerned to work in coordination and submit reports on the progress of the arrangements. Mr. Kumar directed the officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply and internet connectivity during the programme. He also instructed them to take up cleanliness measures along the roads and deploy a fully-equipped ambulance with trained medical personnel at the venue. The Fire and Emergency Services Department has been asked to make necessary arrangements at the helipad and the main event venue as per protocol. Suitable parking arrangements must also be ensured. Prior to the meeting, Mr. Kumar and Superintendent of Police Mallikarjun Baladandi visited the event venue and the proposed helipad site and issued instructions to the officials. They inspected the identified site at the Primary Health Centre grounds, where the helipad will be set up. Arrangements should be made to escort the Vice-President directly from the helipad to the temple, they said. Mr. Baladandi instructed police officials to ensure that there are no lapses in security and traffic management along the route of the Vice-President’s movement.
