Vice-President of India C.P. Radhakrishnan will deliver the 16th convocation address at JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSSAHER), scheduled to be held on its campus at Shivarathreeshwara Nagar in Mysuru on Sunday, November 9. A statement here said that Mr. Radhakrishnan, who is also the Chairman of Rajya Sabha, will distribute gold medals and awards to students at the convocation. While Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot will be the guest of honour, Suttur Mutt seer Shivaratri Deshikendra Swami, who is also the chancellor of JSSAHER, will also be present at the event. A total of 2,925 graduands will receive degrees and diplomas in various faculties, while 80 scholars will be awarded PhD degrees. Seven candidates will be conferred the Doctorate of Medicine and Master of Chirurgiae (Mch) and 68 meritorious students will receive a total of 100 medals and awards for outstanding academic performances. A total of 132 B.Sc. Honours students, the first batch of the four-year degree programme under the New Education Policy, 2020, will also be graduating at the convocation, the statement said. JSSAHER presently has a student strength exceeding 9,000, supported by 800 faculty members and 600 non-teaching staff. JSSAHER has introduced 23 new programmes under various disciplines in 2024-25, taking the total number of programmes to 193. The new programmes include two bachelor degree programmes, 14 post-graduate programmes, four fellowship programmes, and three residency programmes encompassing cutting-edge fields like Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Health Economics, Aero-Medical Sciences, and Cardiology Pharmacy.
