President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a U.S. delegation led by Sergio Gor, the Special Envoy of the U.S. President for South and Central Asian Affairs. The delegation also included U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau and other senior American officials. During the meeting, the sides discussed ways to further develop the Uzbek-American strategic partnership, following up on the high-level agreements reached during President Mirziyoyev’s visit to New York on September 23. At the start of the meeting, Sergio Gor conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from U.S. President Donald Trump to the Head of State. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the growing intensity of political dialogue, expanding exchanges, and active business contacts. The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the United States continues to grow, and the recent visit of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to Tashkent in early October was noted as a success. The parties highlighted the importance of promoting joint projects in key sectors such as industry, finance, critical minerals, energy, digitalization, and agriculture, in line with the newly adopted “road map” for bilateral cooperation. Security cooperation was also discussed, with a focus on combating terrorism, extremism, and illegal migration. The leaders exchanged views on pressing global and regional issues, reaffirming their shared interest in maintaining stability and prosperity in Central Asia. The meeting concluded with a review of upcoming joint events, including the “C5+1” summit scheduled to take place next week in Washington, D.C.
