Woodmont volleyball advanced to the Upper State finals and will face Nation Ford in a rematch. Dorman swept Mauldin and will play Boiling Springs as it seeks a third consecutive championship. Woodmont volleyball defeated Hillcrest in three sets, led by sophomore outside hitter Mallory Mizell, who had 24 kills on Oct. 29, to advance to the Class AAAAA D2 Upper State finals. The Wildcats will have a much-anticipated rematch against Nation Ford on Nov. 3, after falling to the Falcons in a five-set thriller in last year's Upper State finals. Dorman kept its chances of a three-peat alive after sweeping Mauldin on Oct. 29. Senior outside hitter, and Auburn commit Reese Shugart, had 13 kills and 11 aces, and senior setter Ramsey Larke Chastain had 30 assists. The Cavaliers will face Boiling Springs on Nov. 4, after the Bulldogs defeated Blythewood in four sets. The Blue Flame will face Wren on Nov. 4, after the Hurricanes defeated York 3-1. Last season, Wren fell to Camden 3-2 in the Upper State semifinals. Mountain View Prep handled West-Oak in three sets on Oct. 29 and advances to the Upper State finals in the program's second season. The Stars will face stiff competition when they take on the reigning Class AAA champions, Powdersville, on Nov. 4. The Patriots defeated Chapman in three sets to advance. Landrum stays alive Landrum defeated Batesburg-Leesville in four sets on Oct. 29, led by junior Olivia Washington, who had 20 kills and 16 digs. Junior setter Maddie Smith had 36 assists. The Cardinals will face North Central on Nov. 4 to inch closer to making the Class AA state championship game.
