The Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) will conduct an inquiry into the comments made by Nasaf's head coach, Ruzikul Berdiev, during the post-match press conference following the game between OKMK and Nasaf. This was reported by the UFA press service. On October 26, during the 26th round of the Uzbekistan Super League, the OKMK and Nasaf teams faced each other. After the match, Berdiev’s statements at the press conference sparked wide discussions among the football community. Until the 26th round, the Karshi-based team had maintained its lead in the standings. However, after drawing in Almalyk, they handed over the top spot to Fergana’s Neftchi. Commenting on this situation, Berdiev suggested that such developments toward the end of the season might lead to Neftchi eventually winning the championship. ’’You, the media representatives, also know how hard Neftchi is trying. If Neftchi fulfills this task, the real heroes will probably be those behind the scenes. I think you understand what I mean. If Neftchi becomes champion, there’s no need to look for heroes on the pitch; they will be off the field. That’s my opinion,’’ the Nasaf's coach said. The Uzbekistan Football Association announced that it would investigate the incident and provide a legal assessment of Berdiev’s statements. It is worth noting that earlier, the Uzbekistan Professional Football League (UzPFL) had launched an inquiry into the remarks made by Navbahor’s former head coach, Sergey Lushan. After his team suffered a heavy defeat to Bukhara in the 22nd round of the Super League, Lushan stated that some players’ performances seemed suspicious.
