Tiago Splitter calls Jrue Holiday ‘one of the greatest’ Tiago Splitter is the Trail Blazers’ interim head coach because Chauncey Billups is under investigation as part of the NBA’s betting scandal. Splitter has coached the Blazers to two victories, against the Warriors and the Lakers, and is seemingly getting the best out of his players. The former San Antonio Spurs player lauded Holiday for his contributions on offense and defense so far this season. “He’s always in the right place. He’s just a great defender. He sees the play before everyone,” Splitter said. “On the other end, offensively, he’s just leading the team and putting everybody in their spots and leading them on the timeouts. What can I say about him? He’s a champion. He’s one of the greatest.”
