The United Democratic Movement (UDM) in Parliament says it has taken immediate action against the recent physical bullying at Milnerton High School in Cape Town. A video doing the rounds on social media shows how learners are assaulted by other boys with objects such as hockey sticks. UDM Member of Parliament, Nqabayomzi Kwankwa, says 10 grade 10 learners were assaulted, allegedly, as part of an older boys’ initiation. “Following the recent incident being brought to our attention, I have taken immediate steps to address the matter. I have, on behalf of the United Democratic Movement, engaged with the Western Cape MEC for Education, the MEC for Social Development and the Western Cape Provincial Commissioner, urging them all to investigate the matter and to respond to the situation.” Mr Nqabayomzi Kwankwa has engaged SAPS & the Western Cape Education & Social Development MECs after the brutal assault of 10 Milnerton High learners. The UDM calls for accountability, counselling for victims & an end to violent school initiations. #MilnertonHigh #EndBullying #UDM pic.twitter.com/TQYASg0WJI — UDM (@UDmRevolution) October 21, 2025
