Tyler Reddick provides health update on his son Rookie

23XI Racing driver Tyler Reddick recently appeared in an interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio ahead of the Championship 4 race. During the pre-race interaction, Reddick shared the update on his five-month-old son Rookie's recovery after the prognosis.Previously, the five-month-old boy displayed signs of heart failure and was rushed to Levine Children's Hospital cardiovascular intensive care unit in Charlotte. Following that, Rookie underwent surgery and had his kidney removed, which had a tumor that choked the renal vein and artery. Reddick's son also had a transfusion in the initial stage before the surgery. However, after a series of tough weeks, Tyler Reddick's son, Rookie, has been discharged from the hospital. Reflecting on this situation, the media publication wrote:"@TylerReddick says his son Rookie is home and recovering well after some time in the hospital. Great news."According to reports shared by NBC Sports, the 23XI Racing driver stated:“I don’t think there will be any need for any more surgeries, depending on if the tumor grows back, some other things happen. There might be some more treatments that come up, but largely it seems like the crazier days are behind us. But we have some little things to sort out.”Tyler Reddick showcased true sportsmanship and competed in the Hollywood Casino 400 Presented by ESPN Bet at Kansas Speedway while his son was hospitalized. Reddick qualified 12th for the 273-lap race and was 0.34 seconds behind the pole sitter, Chase Briscoe. However, the #45 Toyota Camry XSE driver failed to land a spot in the Championship 4 race scheduled for November 2, 2025, at Phoenix Raceway."I thought it was cute, but that was not my first choice": Tyler Reddick's wife got candid about naming their first sonIn 2019, while Tyler Reddick competed in the Xfinity Series, the couple was expecting their first child. Reddick was in his rookie season with Richard Childress Racing that year and disagreed on the name for their unborn son.Reddick wanted to name his son, Beau, while his wife, Alexa, was stuck with Ryker. Following the confusion, Mrs. Reddick suggested a bet that if the 23XI Racing driver won the 2019 Xfinity Series championship, he could name his son Beau."I thought it was cute, but that was not my first choice," Alexa said. "I was pretty stuck on Ryker at that point, and he was not hopping on that train. If you know Tyler, once he gets his mind on something, it’s stuck."Tyler Reddick won the championship title and dominated the season with six wins for Richard Childress Racing. He won the bet and named his son Beau. Reflecting on the same, Alexa stated:"I don’t know what came over me. I guess pregnancy brain is a real thing, and one day I was like, 'Listen, if you win this championship, you can name him whatever you want, but I don’t want you calling him anything until you are in victory lane holding up that championship trophy in Miami.'""I shook on it, and here we are, and now the baby’s name is going to be Beau," she concluded.Tyler Reddick has logged five wins, 29 top fives, 51 top tens, and seven pole positions in 107 starts in the #45 Toyota Camry XSE. He led 1,236 laps in the 23XI Racing Toyota with an average start of 10.7.
