Melisa was categorized as a Category 5 hurricane and was reported to be one of the strongest Atlantic hurricanes on record, with top winds reaching 185 mph.As the hurricane brought about widespread destruction, many people have stepped up to provide aid to the Jamaicans who were affected by the devastating effects of Hurricane Mellisa. Asafa Powell posted a video on Instagram and shared a glimpse of their efforts as they packed essential supplies for families in St. Elizabeth.Santa Cruz in St. Elizabeth parish was struck by a landslide that blocked the main roads of the town. Moreover, it is the hometown of Noah Lyles' fiancée, Junelle Bromfield, and they, along with Asafa Powell's family, stepped up to assist the community during tough times.Speaking about the devastating effects of the hurricane, Asafa Powell said"You know, people are really suffering right now. As much as I can do and I see a lot of people helping and big thanks to Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield."Noah Lyles' fiancée, Junelle Bromfield, spoke about the impact that the community had on her and shared how they had been such a big support for her during her childhood.
