ISPR says attackers rammed explosives-laden vehicle into college gate, entered the premises, but were cornered and neutralize by troops ISPR says terrorists were in contact with handlers in Afghanistan as Incident mirrors 2014 APS Peshawar tragedy SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: At least two terrorists were killed during a brazen attack on Cadet College Wana in South Waziristan on Monday, as the security forces conducted a swift and decisive clearance operation, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported. According to the military’s media wing, the attackers initially attempted to breach the college’s perimeter but were repelled by the “vigilant and resolute response” of the troops. Undeterred, the assailants then rammed an explosives-laden vehicle against the main gate, causing it to collapse and damaging an adjacent building. They subsequently entered the college premises but were cornered in the administrative block and neutralized. The ISPR noted that the terrorists inside the college were in contact with their handlers in Afghanistan, receiving instructions from across the border. “This blatant act of barbarism orchestrated from Afghanistan contradicts the Afghan Taliban regime’s assertions that such groups are absent from their soil,” it added. Pakistan reserves the right to respond against terrorists and their leadership present in Afghanistan. The military warned that the attack mirrors the 2014 Army Public School Peshawar tragedy, when 147 people, including 132 schoolchildren, were martyred. “These khwarij have once again attempted to spread terror among the youth of tribal areas, who are striving to achieve a better future through education,” the ISPR said. Earlier on Monday, the military reported that at least 24 terrorists were killed three separate engagements in KP’s North Waziristan and Dara Adam Khel districts and Balochistan, reflecting a spike in terrorist activities following the TTP’s end of its ceasefire with the government in November 2022. PM, Interior Minister condemn attack Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack and praised the security forces’ swift retaliation, saying the cowardly enemy had once again failed to target an educational institution. “The unwavering resolve of the security forces will thwart the nefarious designs of the terrorists. The entire nation salutes their courage,” he added. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also paid tribute to the professionalism and valor of the security personnel, noting that their decisive response prevented a major tragedy. “By thwarting the terrorists’ attempt, our brave soldiers have once again proven their dedication to protecting the nation,” he said, reiterating that the government and the people remain united against terrorism. کیڈٹ کالج وانا پر فتنہ الخوارج کی جانب سے حملہ کیڈٹ کالج وانا میں پڑھنے والے بچوں کے والدین کا ویڈیو پیغام سامنے آگیا۔ کیڈٹ کالج وانا میں زیادہ تر طلبہ مقامی ہیں۔ ہم نے اپنے بچوں کو اس لیے سکول بیجھا کہ پڑھ لکھ کر کچھ بن جائے لیکن یہ ظالم خصارجی معصوم بچوں کو بھی نشانہ بنا… pic.twitter.com/NRkpXn365z — PTV News (@PTVNewsOfficial) November 10, 2025 State broadcaster PTV News also aired messages from students’ parents, condemning the attackers and expressing solidarity with the security forces for protecting the college and its students.
