PRH President and CEO Sabine Mersmann spoke to the significance of the expansion, noting how cancer touches nearly every family in the community. “Whether it’s a friend, a loved one, a colleague, or ourselves — it’s a journey that no one walks alone,” she said. “And while we can’t change the diagnosis, what we can do is and what we strive to do every single day is enhance the experience of care. We can create spaces that feel safe, warm, and welcoming, and spaces that offer dignity, comfort, and connection.” The new open-concept treatment area encourages interaction among patients, fostering a sense of community. Families and caregivers will also benefit from improved waiting areas and new education rooms designed to support them in their role.
