Commuters face travel disruption on the Jubilee and Victoria lines (Picture: EPA) Passengers faced severe delays on two London Underground lines after a signal failure and a faulty train. Commuters travelling on the Victoria and Jubilee lines braced for longer journeys than usual after issues on the Tube this morning. First, the Jubilee line ran into trouble after a broken-down engineering train, a TfL travel status update showed. The entire Victoria line had severe delays while engineers fixed a signal failure at Vauxhall. Normal service resumed on the Jubilee line shortly before 9am, while the Victoria line continues to have minor delays. Southeastern trains are unable to run between the stations for the time being. Metro’s Daisy Outram, who is travelling from Kent to central London, was caught in the disruption. She said the fire broke out in the tunnel between High Brooms and Tonbridge, forcing passengers onto buses. ‘The buses were quite packed and the kids were very confused why there were so many people on the bus,’ she said. National Rail said: ‘A failure of the electricity supply at Tunbridge Wells has caused a fire. Staff are on site and attempting to correct the issue. Power has been turned off to the track.’ Trains could be delayed by up to 30 minutes, cancelled or revised. The disruption is expected to last until 9am, National Rail said. Comment Now The rail operator said on X: ‘A failure of the electricity supply at Tunbridge Wells has occurred, so trains are unable to run between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells. ‘Tickets are being accepted on local Arriva bus 281 for High Brooms and bus 7. A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue told Metro: ‘Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to assist Network Rail at Tunbridge Wells Railway Station. ‘Two fire engines attended. ‘There are no reported injuries.
