Trump now scheming to have us give him $230 million

Donald Trump is now trying to shake down – well, you, me and everybody that we know – demanding we, the people, give him $230 million, free and clear, because he feels he was unjustly investigated for trying to overthrow the government in 2021, and for leaving the White House with boxes full of classified documents that weren’t his to just take. “They probably owe me a lot of money,” Trump told reporters today at the White House, confirming the substance of reporting from The New York Times, to the effect that Trump expects to be compensated for the investigations into his illegal activity, which led to charges being placed against him that were dropped after he won the 2024 presidential election. The best part of his scheme: people that he appointed to their jobs in the Justice Department would be the ones to decide if he gets the money. I wish I was making this up. You can guess where that $230 million that his flunkies are sure to say he will get comes from. Dig deep, until it hurts. “Well, I guess they probably owe me a lot of money for that, probably, that’s true,” said Trump, who was borderline broke when he announced his first run for president in 2015, with his TV show, “The Apprentice,” on the verge of being canceled, and his ability to raise money from banks eroded after a string of bankruptcies. Trump and his family have since been using the trappings of the presidency to replenish the family fortune that had been left to Donald and his siblings by his father, Fred, who made the original millions in the Trump name by exploiting loopholes in contracts for federal housing after World War II. Donald famously edged his siblings out of their rightful shares of their father’s estate, then squandered the bulk of the original Trump fortune on his many failed business ventures. That he’s now pushing for a $230 million cash infusion from you, me and our friends and family will tell you that the sales of Trump Bibles, Trump basketball shoes, Trump dinner plates, Trump crypto, the rest, aren’t bringing in what we had been led to believe was the case. “If I get money from our country, I’ll do something nice with it like to give it to charity or give it to the White House, where we restore the White House, and we’re doing a good job. As you know, the ballroom is under construction,” Trump finished his train of thought on the $230 million taxpayer ask, referencing the $250 million ballroom boondoggle that he’s also sticking us with.
