Transcorp Group reports 39% revenue growth on strong power, hospitality performance

Transnational Corporation Plc, the Nigerian conglomerate with interests spanning power, hospitality and energy, has reported a robust 39 per cent rise in revenue for the third quarter of 2025, reinforcing its position as one of the nation’s most resilient and growth-focused corporates. In its unaudited financial statements for the period ended 30 September 2025, the Group said revenue rose to ₦413.4 billion, up from ₦297.7 billion posted in Q3 2024. Profit Before Tax (PBT) also increased by 18 per cent to ₦124.5 billion, compared to ₦105.5 billion in the same period last year, while Profit After Tax (PAT) surged 20.5 per cent to ₦91.4 billion, from ₦75.9 billion a year earlier. The company attributed the strong top-line and earnings expansion to improved operational output and capacity utilisation across subsidiaries, especially in power generation and hospitality. Transcorp noted that its power plants operated more efficiently in the review quarter, while the addition of the 5,000-capacity Transcorp Centre Abuja substantially boosted hospitality revenue. The Group also said it maintained a gross profit margin of 48 per cent, demonstrating disciplined cost management despite inflationary pressures and prevailing macroeconomic challenges. Tony O. Elumelu, CFR, Chairman of Transcorp Group, said the performance highlights the significant opportunities available in Nigeria’s productive sectors and Transcorp’s role in unlocking that value. “Our diversified business model continues to give investors exposure to the sectors driving Nigeria’s growth. As economic reforms strengthen the operating environment, we are strategically positioned to take full advantage,” he said. Elumelu added that Transcorp remains focused on accelerating Nigeria’s electrification and supporting broader development, stating that increased generation capacity places the Group at the forefront of efforts to reduce the country’s energy deficit. In hospitality, he said the company is “redefining excellence” with new assets such as the Transcorp Centre Abuja, designed to attract global events and stimulate tourism and travel revenue. President/Group CEO, Dr Owen Omogiafo, OON, said the results affirm the Group’s strategic execution. “We continue to optimise our portfolio to deliver sustainable value for shareholders and meaningful economic impact. The momentum we have built gives us confidence as we enter the final quarter of the year,” she said. Transcorp assured shareholders of continued value creation through expansion, improved efficiencies and investment discipline, positioning the Group to strengthen its leadership in critical sectors of the Nigerian economy.
