Tom Brady Upset About Naming New Top NFL Team

Over the last few weeks, there has been a feeling that the Kansas City Chiefs have been finding themselves after losing by a wide margin in last winter’s Super Bowl. They lost both of their first two games this season, but they have since won five of six, and they have won three contests in a row by a combined 65 points. But the Chiefs are still not in first place in the AFC West, and they’re looking up at four teams in the conference in terms of won-loss record. At the top of the standings are the Indianapolis Colts, who have galloped out to a 7-1 record to the surprise of most people. Legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady gave his list of the top 10 teams in the league right now, and he put the Colts at No. 1, even though he said he didn’t want to do so. The Chiefs only occupy the No. 6 spot in his ranking. “Not gonna lie. I didn’t want to do it,” Brady said. “But I can’t ignore 7-1. The Colts have arrived, and they’re finally the No. 1 team in my Power Rankings. “I know people have their doubts, but this offense hasn’t taken a single quarter off all season long. Their only loss came against another top-five team [the Los Angeles Rams] on the road in L.A., and they deserve to be on top of the pile. “With a favorable schedule in the second half of the season, could the AFC run through Indy this year? I feel sick just saying that.” "Could the AFC run through Indy this year? I feel sick just saying that." Brady’s New England Patriots met Manning’s Colts three times in the playoffs, with New England winning twice. Later, after Manning joined the Broncos, the Broncos defeated Brady and crew twice in the playoffs. Virtually no one thought the Colts would be a contender coming into the 2025 campaign. They had replaced the disappointing Anthony Richardson with Daniel Jones, another relative disappointment, at the starting quarterback position, and Jones had done little in six previous seasons to indicate he could become a star-level player. But through eight games, Jones has thrown for 2,062 yards, 13 touchdowns and three interceptions while completing 71.2% of his pass attempts, and he ranks third in the league in the latter category. As a result, Indianapolis has the league’s top offense, both in terms of points and total yards gained. With just under a week left before the Nov. 4 trade deadline, perhaps a deal would help shore up that unit. There is also the question of whether the man some are now calling “Indiana” Jones can defeat a battle-tested team such as the Chiefs or the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs. But for now, the Colts are happily skipping across the farm for the first time in a number of years. For more on the Colts and general NFL news, head over to Newsweek Sports.
