A man can say a lot with one gif, and very little with 18 words. So it was Wednesday, when Los Angeles Dodgers co-owner Magic Johnson shared his thoughts about Game 5 of the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays, and Jays pitcher Kevin Gausman decided to respond. "Whichever team wins takes control of the Series!" Gausman responded to Johnson's latest timely platitude with an image from the movie "Zoolander." Will Ferrell's villain, Mugatu, turns to one of his minions and says "He's absolutely right." The Basketball Hall of Famer and Los Angeles legend certainly didn't leave much for anyone to argue with in his assessment of Game 5 between the Dodgers and Blue Jays. The winning team will be one game away from the championship; the loser, two. By the time Guggenheim Partners CEO Mark Walter was assembling an ownership group to purchase the Dodgers out of bankruptcy in 2012, Johnson was still among the most recognizable public figures in Los Angeles — and one of the city's most successful businessmen. While his investments expand, Johnson's social media persona has remained remarkably consistent in its preference for obvious facts over incisive opinions. "The only way San Antonio or Miami don't win the championship is if neither team makes the finals," he wrote in March 2014. Then in May: "The amazing NBA Playoffs continue tonight with second round action match ups I’ve been waiting to see - the New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics and Denver Nuggets vs. Oklahoma City Thunder!" Perhaps Gausman was unfamiliar with Johnson's Twitter game. Maybe he was just waiting for the right moment to chime in. Either way, the pitcher saw Johnson's distaste for trash talk and raised it a gif.
