Tom Aspinall contemplated retirement as he sat in hospital after UFC 321: ‘I won’t carry on’

Tom Aspinall wouldn’t fight with one eye Britain’s biggest MMA legend, Michael Bisping, famously continued fighting after going blind in one eye. It worked out well for ‘The Count’ as he went on to win the UFC middleweight title by knocking out Luke Rockhold in June 2016. However, Tom Aspinall insisted that type of injury would immediately end his combat sports career. The best big man in MMA contemplated retirement as he sat in the hospital waiting for his injured eyes to be checked over. “I really respect what Bisping’s done,” Aspinall said. “But he’s done more than I would. “I won’t carry on fighting with one eye. No chance. No chance. “Let’s see what they say.”
