Tokyo Disney Resort announced official details for their 2026 New Year’s Celebration. Tokyo Disney Resort will celebrate the new year from January 1 through 12, 2026. Offerings include New Year’s Greetings featuring characters, decorations, fireworks, and special menus. “it’s a small world” with Groot will also run during the period, beginning on December 27, 2025. New Year’s Greeting at Tokyo Disneyland The New Year’s Greeting will run on the park’s parade route twice daily for about 25 minutes. The greeting includes 21 performers, including Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and other Disney friends in traditional Japanese outfits. They will be on festive floats decorated for the New Year’s season. A 12-piece band in traditional Japanese attire will also accompany the floats. New Year’s Harbor Greeting at Tokyo DisneySea This greeting will be in Mediterranean Harbor twice daily. The show is about 10 minutes and features seven performers. Mickey, Minnie, and friends appear in New Year’s outfits on a festive boat. The newly-appointed Tokyo Disney Resort Ambassadors will appear at greetings on January 1. New Day, New Dreams Fireworks From December 26 through January 12, guests are invited to “Step forward with new dreams” during the New Day, New Dreams fireworks nighttime spectacular. New Year’s Merchandise New Year’s-inspired merchandise will be available at both parks starting on December 1. The collections include pouches and postcards in red, white, and gold designs featuring Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, and Horace Horsecollar in traditional Japanese attire preparing mochi. Horace is included for the Year of the Horse. Other merchandise includes bowls and chopsticks featuring daruma designs inspired by Disney characters and daruma-inspired Japanese sweets. Plush toys and plush badges of Disney characters with horse-themed designs will be available from November 17. Special Menus at Disney Parks and Hotels From January 1 through 5, 2026, mochi and chicken in broth (traditional Japanese New Year’s soup) will be available at Restaurant Hokusai in Tokyo Disneyland and Restaurant Sakura in Tokyo DisneySea. The miso soup included in set meals can also be changed to mochi and chicken in broth for 700 yen at these restaurants. The broth features a variety of festive ingredients, including mochi, prawn, and hagoita-shaped fish cake. From December 26 at both parks, guests can enjoy a bowl of oden, and a kinako mousse and milk jelly dessert in a teacup-shaped souvenir cup (750 yen) featuring New Year designs. From December 26, 2025 through January 12, 2026, three Disney hotels will offer special New Year’s menus. At Canna in Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, the “Year End & New Year Stylish Canna” dinner course will be offered. It includes osechi (traditional Japanese New Year cuisine)-inspired appetizers. At the Californian-style restaurant Empire Grill in Disney Ambassador Hotel, guests can enjoy the “Year End & New Year Special Dinner,” which includes an appetizer, a grilled dish, and a dessert with Mickey motifs. At Silk Road Garden, the Chinese restaurant in Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta, the “Year End & New Year Dinner Course” will feature dishes using auspicious New Year’s ingredients, including alfonsino and spiny lobster. Decorations From December 27, 2025 to January 12, 2026, the entrance to World Bazaar in Tokyo Disneyland and the entrance to Passaggio MiraCosta in Tokyo DisneySea will be adorned with New Year’s kadomatsu decorations featuring Mickey and Horace Horsecollar. Other Offerings Park tickets purchased online, valid for admissions from January 1 through 12 will be available in a limited-period New Year’s design. From December 26 through January 12, Disney Resort Line day passes will be available in two different New Year’s designs at ticket machines.
