This ranking is based on Kayak’s latest Travel Check-in report and considers factors such as wellness-focused getaways, convenient city hopping, and relaxed, low-stress travel experiences. Hint: It's not a travel hotspot like Japan or Italy While many might have expected travel hotspots like Italy, Japan, or the UK to top the 2025 list, Forbes has surprised everyone by naming Zimbabwe as the best place to visit in 2025. Flight searches to Bulawayo have increased by more than 80 per cent, and Harare has seen a 56 per cent rise in summer trip searches this year, according to Kayak. Zimbabwe offers truly spectacular natural sights, from the world-renowned Victoria Falls to the sweeping wild plains of Hwange National Park. Visitors will find breathtaking scenery and abundant wildlife. The wildlife experiences in Zimbabwe are particularly noteworthy. You can see elephants, lions, rhinos, and more in less-crowded parks. Adventure also awaits, with options such as kayaking or rafting on the Zambezi River and walking safaris in quieter reserves, providing plenty to do. The country’s history and culture are rich and unique. You can visit the ancient stone city of Great Zimbabwe, explore rock art in the hills of Matobo National Park, or connect with the warm hospitality of the locals. South Korea follows in fourth place, where Seoul has recorded a 65 per cent rise in flight searches this year. Argentina rounds out the top five, with Buenos Aires seeing a 49 per cent jump in flight interest for summer 2025.
