A contestant on The Wheel broke down in tears as she delivered a powerful message to a star from The Celebrity Traitors. Presented by Claudia Winkleman , fans have loved watching the new version of the BBC programme, which normally features members of the public. To date, the faithfuls have been unable to banish the traitors Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns following a string of murders and roundtables. Officially, the worst-performing group of faithfuls in any version of the show, viewers are wondering just how they’ll be able to win at its conclusion. Saturday night (October 25) saw one of the BBC’s other huge shows, The Wheel, returning for its fifth series. Presented by comedian Michael McIntylre, the quiz show sees seven celebrities strapped in chairs on a giant wheel, with each one having an area of knowledge that can help contestants. With the stars giving their opinion on the multiple-choice questions read out by Michael, the contestants can use their knowledge to try and win a big prize. The first episode of the new season featured former footballer Jill Scott, Strictly ’s Layton William, actress Susan Wokoma, comedian Katherine Ryan and Inside Number 9s’ Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith. The celebrity who had the busiest night on the programme was former England rugby star Joe Marler, who is one of the faithfuls on the Celebrity Traitors . Early on in the episode, Hannah, a data analyst and carer from Macclesfield was asked by Michael about why she wanted to take part. Beginning to cry, Hannah revealed that Joe had a big impact on her mental health as she revealed he ‘helped shape her life’. “I’ve struggled with mental health for quite a while and I never really had a hobby. I was always kind of a lost person growing up, I didn’t know whether I was coming or going and this said person brought out a podcast about mental health and rugby. "I now play rugby, it is a massive passion of mine and if it wasn’t for Joe (points to Joe Marler) then I wouldn’t be doing it," she said. With Hannah and Joe sharing a hug, Michael noted that he ‘wasn't expecting this’ and that it was ‘so sweet’ to witness. While Hannah didn’t win the cash prize, those watching the episode at home took to X, previously known as Twitter , to have their say on the moment. @jessiehxsking said: “Hannah talking about mental health, rugby and how much Joe Marler has helped and inspired her #TheWheel.” @cantdecideonit2 added: “Joe has made me love him even more on the wheel #thewheel.” @makejoshscrum wrote: “Joe Marler is an absolute inspiration and advocate for MH and Rugby. I’m not crying you are!” @Bluecat100 stated: “I’m now VERY invested in Hannah winning, bless her. #TheWheel.” The episode concluded with lollipop lady Sally from Gateshead, who recently got the all clear from cancer, winning £110,000 with Joe’s help.
