One of The Wanted star Tom Parker’s bandmates has said that ‘it’s not easy’ after his death as he revealed that they ‘cleared the air’ prior to his passing. The singer , who found fame in the early 2010s with the UK group, died at the age of 33 in March 2022 after being diagnosed with an incurable brain tumour. Tom shared two young children with his wife Kelsey Parker , Aurelia Rose, six, and four-year-old Bodhi. Formed in 2009 and consisting of Tom, Jay McGuiness , Max George, Nathan Sykes and Siva Kaneswaran, The Wanted rose to fame when their debut track All Time Low shot to number one in the UK. Boasting hits such as Glad You Came, Walks Like Rihanna and Lightning, the group went on hiatus to pursue personal endeavours in 2014. 2021 saw the group reuniting for the first time in seven years at Tom Parker’s Inside My Head – The Concert to raise awareness of brain tumours Speaking in a new interview to The Express , Siva shared how Tom’s passing led to him wanting to take on his own fears. “Tom was squeezing life out every moment when he was diagnosed, and I was reminded after his passing how death teaches you how to live. “Going forward, immediately after that, I signed up to do all the things I'm terrified of because it was not as scary as what he had gone through. “Even though I was terrified, I did Celebrity SAS. I skated on knives on Dancing on Ice and got to the semi-final. I did a whole tribute to him on that show," he said. Siva continued: “I did so many things that I was scared of. I did a theatre show because I wanted to learn Spanish, and suddenly a theatre show came in that you sing in Spanish. “I did all that, all literally, straight after his passing. I also connected with my family again.” Saying that they ‘cleared the air’ ‘close towards the end’ of Tom’s life, Siva revealed one of his final exchanges with Tom. “We said things we never thought we'd say to each other. We cried a lot together. Everything just seemed so small now, and all the problems we had. "We always butted heads, we always had tempers - the memories we made together I'll cherish," he noted. Siva is currently performing as part of The Wanted 2.0 with Max , with the pair playing their original band's biggest hits to their fans.
