During her time in the spotlight, Jennifer Aniston has been half of some of Hollywood’s most high-profile couples. Of course, there was Brad Pitt, then there were her John Mayer years in the 2000s, and then a seven-year relationship with Justin Theroux which ended in 2018. Since then, in spite of much fascination with the former Friends star’s love, there’s been very few headlines about who/if she’s dating. Until this summer, that is, when she was papped on a yacht with a new man — and now she’s made things Instagram official with him. The guy in question is Jim Curtis. But before you rack your brain, trying to recall his last big hit or starring role — stop right there, because he is in fact a non-famous person. But this begs the question: who is Jim Curtis — and how did the pair get together? Let us answer all the big questions. Instagram sleuths have been connecting the pair since spring this year, when they began commenting on each other’s posts. Some classic emoji-led flirting saw Curtis praise one of Aniston’s workout posts with a heart and a flexing arm. So far, so school yard. Then there’s the fact that Aniston shared an Instagram post featuring Curtis’s book, Shift, back in May. A pretty big plug. Then suspicions were confirmed when the pair were seen having some fun in the Mediterranean sun together. While on holiday in Mallorca with friends Amy Schumer and Jason Bateman, Aniston was photographed on a yacht enjoying some PDA with Curtis. Fast forward a few months and Curtis had become Aniston’s default plus one. Most recently he was at the Morning Show’s September premiere, after also being seen at launch of her LolaVie dry shampoo in August. He was also spotted on a double date with Jen, Courtney Cox and Johnny McDaid. While it’s not clear exactly where they first encountered each other, People Magazine reports that they were connected by friends, and bonded over a shared passion for wellness and mindfulness. It seems so! The pair’s relationship has been confirmed by an Instagram post on Aniston’s feed of the pair embracing at Curtis’s 50th birthday party, which features the caption: “Happy birthday my love Cherished ❤️” Considering the L word and the black and white filter we’d say this looks pretty serious. While Jim isn’t himself famous, his social media presence seems to confirm he’s very much adjacent to the world of celebs. One of the many job titles Curtis uses (more on that later) is hypnotherapist, and according to People, he’s worked with everyone from Miranda Kerr to Julianne Hough. In March 2022, Kerr posted an Instagram video with Curtis where they discussed "fully embracing every aspect of yourself." Curtis has also appeared on several podcasts where he talks about the importance of manifestation, getting out of toxic patterns and ways to transform. While his Instagram includes videos on whether you should ‘settle or stay alone’ and being a ‘master manifester’. Yes, this is a man fully on board with all things woo-woo. Back to what he does for work... well it’s not exactly clear. Perhaps we could assume Curtis is a multi-hyphenate type, as the many titles listed across his social media profiles include: entrepreneur, an executive at companies like WebMD, an author, speaker, hypno-coach and educator. People reports that he started out as a trader on Wall Street before channeling all he had learnt after living with a condition related to his spinal cord to coach others living with chronic pain. “I not only transformed my health, anxiety and relationships, I've helped thousands of others break free from their past and patterns to create an entirely new reality full of connection, abundance and love,” he says on his website. Other than the hard launch Instagram post, we’ll have to take friends’ word for it on how these two are faring as a couple so far. A source told People of Jen-An, "She's been happy on her own, but she's also open to sharing her life with someone. As long as it feels right. Jen's in a very good place right now — grounded, fulfilled and very happy." The insider further explained that Curtis is "very different from anyone she's dated before." The response to the pair’s Instagram debut has been overwhelming with nearly 900K likes in a matter of hours, and plenty of fellow stars commenting their approval. Their fellow yacht buddy Schumer wrote: “Beautiful couple. Healing kind angels ❤️” It seems Aniston may have met her match.
