The Greater Manchester publicans named amongst the best in the country

The team behind a much-loved Greater Manchester boozer is celebrating after being praised after being named one of the 'best' in the country. Nicole Webb and Dave Parrott, who run The King William IV in Newton, Hyde , have just been named ‘Best Centre of Excellence Operators’ at Craft Union Pub Company’s national awards. The accolade recognises their 'outstanding work' not only running a brilliant local pub, but also training and mentoring new pub operators across the UK. Nicole said: “We’re absolutely over the moon to win this award, it means the world to us. The King William IV is at the heart of our community, and we’re so proud to represent Hyde on a national stage. We love what we do, and to be recognised for it is just incredible.” Located on Talbot Road in Hyde, the pub is described by the parent company as being traditional and offering a wide variety of drinks and offers. Since 2015, Craft Union (part of Stonegate Group) has offered self-employment opportunities across England and Wales for pub enthusiasts, supporting local operators with training and guidance as they practice their craft of running outstanding community pubs. There are more than 650 Craft Union pubs nationwide, and the Craft Union Operator Awards are held every year by the pub company to celebrate the hard work and dedication of their pub operators across the UK who go the extra mile for their communities. Craft Union said that from the day a new operator starts with the company, Nicole and Dave make them feel at ease, giving them the confidence to step into their roles. It added that they they provide comprehensive packs, practical tools, and step-by-step documents and videos to guide them. Their passion for pubs shines through in everything they do, and their dedication to developing others sets a fantastic example. Frazer Grimbleby, Craft Union Managing Director, added: “Nicole and Dave are true ambassadors for what makes Craft Union special - passionate, community-focused, and always willing to help others.
