As autumn has finally started, many people will be looking forward to Halloween. Covering your home with spooky decorations and carving pumpkins to go next to your front door is a quintessential part of the Halloween celebrations. However, the fun of pumpkin carving starts with a visit to a pumpkin patch to find the perfect pumpkin for your design. Cambridgeshire locals are in luck as there are plenty of patches to choose from with many extra autumnal activities added on to make the experience even more special. If you are not sure which patch to go to, CambridgeshireLive has created a list of some of the best pumpkin patches for 2025. You can find out where the patches are and when they are open below. Skylark Garden Centre Location: Manea Rd, Wimblington, March, PE15 0PE The Skylark Garden Centre is holding a Week of Wickedness for Halloween including pumpkin picking, tractor rides, pig racing, and a daily magic show. You can also get lost walking around the maize maze with a mini maize made for younger children. After picking your pumpkin, you can carve it in the dedicated marquee so you can avoid making a mess at home. Tickets for the event cost £15 for adults and £17 for children between the age of three and 14 with pumpkins costing from £3. The Halloween events and pumpkin patch will be running on October 18 and 19 and then from Saturday, October 25 to Friday, October 31. Freshfields Farm Location: Benwick Rd, Huntingdon, PE26 2XU Freshfields Farm is opening its doors to the public again for pumpkin picking. The farm says there will be plenty of photo opportunities around the fields with a coffee van and Toms Cakes on site to keep you fuelled throughout the day. Entry to Freshfields is free but the site is cash only so make sure to bring some with you to buy a pumpkin and some treats during your trip. Pumpkin picking will be running every weekend from October 4 and then daily from Friday, October 24 until Halloween. Milton Maze Pumpkin Patch Location: Rectory Farm, A10, Milton, Cambridge, CB24 6AE The Milton Maze Pumpkin Patch has over 60,000 pumpkins to choose from including your usual orange pumpkins as well as white pumpkins, stripy pumpkins, and even pink pumpkins. There is also a Field of Fun to check out featuring a wooden maze, go karts, crazy golf, and zip wire. Entry to the Milton Maze Pumpkin Patch costs £9.95 for both children and adults with pumpkins costing between 75p and £10. The pumpkin patch will be open every weekend from October 4 and then daily from Saturday, October 25 until Halloween. Cuckoo Bridge Nursery and Farm Shop Location: St Ives Rd, Somersham, Huntingdon, PE28 3ET As well as being able to go pumpkin picking, the Cuckoo Bridge Nursery and Farm Shop has plenty of activities for children such as a straw maze, bouncy castle, and mini tractors. Other activities like the tractor barrel train rides and face painting come at an extra cost. Tickets for entry to the pumpkin patch cost £4 for both adults and children with pumpkins costing between £1 and £10. The pumpkin patch will be open from Saturday, October 4, and will be running every day until Halloween. Worzals Garden Centre Location: Lynn Rd, Wisbech, PE14 7DA Rusty's Great Pumpkin Patch is returning for 2025 and has a few different themed areas to explore such as Jurassic Hollow where you will find "roaring dinosaurs, stacks of pumpkins, and iconic movie props straight out of your favourite dino flick". You can also visit the "quirky Wild West" town that has the "perfect blend of rustic charm and seasonal fun" with plenty of photo opportunities. The pumpkin patch will open on select days throughout October starting from Saturday, October 4. Tickets costs £9.95 for children and adults with a free pumpkin included in the price or you can buy a ticket for £13.95 for children, which also includes access to the garden centre's play area.
