Hyderabad: In the wake of the recent private travel bus accident in Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Y Nagi Reddy, inspected several buses and reviewed safety protocols on Monday. Reddy, along with senior officials, carried out inspections at the Miyapur-1 Depot. The team examined various bus models, including Lahari Sleeper, Lahari A/C Sleeper-cum-Seater, Rajadhani, and Super Luxury services. The inspection covered fire safety mechanisms such as fire detection alarms and fire suppression systems, ensuring that all equipment was functioning effectively. During the review, the Managing Director discussed standard operating procedures for evacuating passengers safely during emergencies. He instructed staff and drivers to remain alert and follow all safety protocols without fail. Reddy emphasised the importance of driver awareness and passenger communication. Drivers were advised to play a welcome and safety announcement before each journey and to prioritise passenger safety above all else in case of any untoward incident. He also directed depot managers to ensure that every bus is equipped with emergency exits, window breakers, and fire extinguishers at all times.
