Texas Star Colin Simmons Announces Career News Before Georgia Game

The No. 11 Texas Longhorns are 7-2, with a matchup against the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs in Week 12. On a four-game winning streak, the Longhorns are looking to stay hot and pick up another SEC win. Sophomore EDGE Colin Simmons has been among the team’s best players through nine games. He’s racked up 30 tackles, eight sacks, one pass deflection, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He’s been an anchor for an impressive Texas defense, which ranks No. 2 in the SEC in points per game allowed (16.4). His production has made him one of the most recognizable players on the Longhorns. Being a top player on a team with a brand as large as Texas has its perks, and it’s created a handful of NIL opportunities. On Thursday, Simmons announced for the first time a partnership with Hollister. “Been cookin’ with @hollister #hollisterpartner 🤘 Use code HCOCOLIN in store or at hollisterco.com to get an extra 20% off at checkout through 11/12,” Simmons wrote via an Instagram post. “Offer valid in US/CA. Excludes clearance and gift cards. See details online.” According to the brand’s website, the pass rusher helped co-design a limited-edition Texas hoodie. Hollister adds to a long list of brands Simmons has partnered with, also having deals with Beats by Dre, Sonic, Kane Footwear and Vanguard Volkswagen. According to On3, he has an NIL valuation of $1.4 million, which is the 37th highest in college football. Considering he’s only a sophomore, Simmons won’t be draft eligible until 2027, meaning he still has plenty of time to cash in on more NIL opportunities. One way for him to grow his personal brand is continued dominance on the field, starting with Georgia. Texas is entering a hostile environment, while ESPN’s matchup predictor gives them a 42.4% chance of winning. Kickoff is Nov. 15 at Sanford Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
