Team Cayman Racing made history by sending 12 riders to the 44th annual International Jet Sports Boating Association World Finals, held from 4-12 Oct. in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Twenty-year-old James Munroe Jr. led the team’s effort, securing a third-place podium finish in the Pro Am Runabout Super Stock class and taking fifth place in the Pro Am Runabout Limited class. His racing journey began in 2021 practicing with his father and quickly grew into a passion and purpose. Already a P1 AquaX and East Coast Watercross Series title holder, Munroe returned to Lake Havasu after earning a world ranking of eighth in 2024, achieving his goal of delivering strong results for Cayman. “This world stage podium finish means a lot for me. I’m very thankful to God for the opportunity to get to the world stage for the second time and improve my ranking,” Munroe Jr. said. “During the races, I was concentrating on my breathing, as the air was so dry and different from our moist air in Cayman [so I was] very grateful and honored when I realized I placed top three in the world for the Pro Runabout Superstock category,” he added. A record-breaking roster of Cayman talent The full squad of 12 riders made their presence known, with several athletes posting impressive top-10 finishes and gaining invaluable international experience. In the Novice Runabout Stock class, Cayman had a packed field with Dylan McLaughlin finishing with a fifth-place ranking. Not far behind was Leroy Whittaker who secured a seventh-place finish. Aaron Miller, the 2025 Cayman Islands Watercraft Association Pro Open Champion, placed ninth. Rounding out the group were 17-year-old Andre Massias, the Novice Stock Class title holder for the 2025 CIWA National Tour, who finished 13th, and Johnathon Ebanks of North Side nearing in 14th. In other classes, Cline Glidden III made his first World Finals appearance finishing fourth in the Dean’s Cup Memorial Race and Jordan McLean grabbing sixth. Glidden III also came 10th in the Pro-Am Runabout Stock. The Pro Am Runabout Endurance class was well represented by team Cayman with Johnathon Ebanks claiming fifth, Leroy Whittaker followed close behind in sixth-place, Nathan McLean placing 14th, Ben Mantel grabbing 16th and Jordan McLean landing 20th. In the Pro Am Runabout Limited category, Tyler Watler secured a top-10 finish with a sixth-place ranking while Brandon Elliott placed fifth in the Amateur Runabout Rec Lites class.
