Taylor Sheridan's 4-Season Crime Thriller Is On Another Level Right Now

Taylor Sheridan is rapidly becoming one of the biggest names in television entertainment, and Mayor of Kingstown stands out as one of his most intense shows on the air. Sheridan's contributions to TV are incredible, with several of his creations becoming global phenomena, the most notable of which being Yellowstone. And as he has refined his craft and expanded the Sheridanverse, his fanbase has expanded considerably. Sheridan has also recruited some of the biggest names in Hollywood to star in his shows, from Kevin Costner to Sylvester Stallone, but one show is standing out. Taylor Sheridan Has Become Wildly Successful As A Storyteller & Showrunner For years, starting with his first TV role back in 1995, Sheridan pursued work as on-screen talent, landing a range of roles in film and TV. However, it wasn't until 2008 that he landed his breakout role as David Hale in the hit series Sons of Anarchy. Fortunately, Sheridan was also working on his own stories, which would eventually be the thing to propel him forward. In 2015, Sheridan worked with director Denis Villeneuve as the writer for the film Sicario. On the back of that film's success, Sheridan continued to write for films for a few years, but his big break came with Yellowstone, a series he created that premiered on Paramount in 2018. Since the explosive success of that show, Sheridan has created and co-created a further seven shows, with more than 100 episodes combined, and more in the works. While Most Of His TV Shows Explore Crime & Corruption, Mayor Of Kingstown Is On Another Level Relatively speaking, Sheridan's success as a screenwriter has only just begun. And in a short amount of time, he has been busy expanding the world of Yellowstone, and diving into parallel stories. But Mayor of Kingstown feels different from the rest of Sheridan's credits. Co-created with the brilliant Hugh Dillon, who has drawn from his personal lived experience to create the world of Kingstown, this show raises the stakes in every conceivable way. Like Sheridan's other work, it's dripping with drama and tension, but the show takes things to a different level. Kingstown, as a premise, is dangerous. It's not just about the people feuding and disputing that makes it a tense place to be, but the proximity to several prisons, and the way the legal system and the criminal system are aligned with Mike McLusky acting as the unofficial mayor in the middle, is intriguing.
