Syracuse, N.Y. -- Former Liverpool High School great Charles Pride is in training camp with the G League Memphis Hustle. The Hustle acquired Pride in the available player pool. Pride, a 6-foot-4 guard, most recently played for Boeheim’s Army last summer in The Basketball Tournament. He had just finished a professional season in New Zealand, where he played for Tuatara and averaged 11.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists. He shot 50% overall in New Zealand and 33.6% from the 3-point line (45-of-134). His 6.2 rebounds were second-best on his team. Pride was part of Liverpool High School’s state championship team before moving to Putnam Science Academy for a year. He spent four seasons racking up points at Bryant (1,528), then played a final season at St. Bonaventure as a grad student. With the Bonnies, started all 30 games, averaged 10.9 points on 44.4% overall shooting and 40% shooting from the 3-point line (42-for-105). G League teams are holding training camps from Oct. 27 through Nov. 6, when final rosters will be set. Games begin Nov. 7.
