The Iowa-Oregon game was a wild night at the Kinnick Stadium. However, it has brought some unfortunate trouble to a senior fan’s family. The University of Iowa is spearheading the search for the fan, who went missing after the Oregon game. UI’s Police Department has acknowledged the search for Jerome (Jerry) Lepperd, who came to watch the Oregon game. However, he was separated from his family as they were leaving the venue. Lepperd is 73 and has been missing for more than 12 hours now. The authorities are asking for all help to find him. Some have shared the post to raise awareness about the situation. The senior fan also isn’t in the best of health. The police said that he has a bandage on his forehead because of a surgery and can also present as disoriented. A photo of Jerry Lepperd has also been circulated to aid in the search. Like most fans, he also wore a black raincoat and black rain pants. Officials have notified that Lepperd might be wearing a blue stocking hat. He was also wearing glasses in the photo provided. Jerome Lepperd being missing for such a long time and having these medical conditions makes the search for him a race against time. Moreover, the weather conditions were really bad, making the situation even more alarming for Iowa officials. And he is also not familiar with the area. Fans are hoping that Jerome Lepperd is found and reunited with his family back home soon. Iowa fans send prayers for Jerome Lepperd and hope for the best “Praying we find he is safe. Easy to get separated last night. Dark and raining, full house emptying at once, all with black rain gear and hoods,” wrote one fan. This is very likely what caused Lepperd to lose sight of his family. Kinnick Stadium was completely packed for the Oregon game. Such a huge number of people crowding the exits with the same rain gear must’ve caused the confusion for Jerry Lepperd. Fans had also turned unruly by the end of the game, causing more chaos. “Hope they find him. Too cold for someone like this to be out. Especially if he is still wet from last night,” another fan wrote, sharing their concerns. This is the most dangerous aspect of the situation for Jerome Lepperd. Temperatures dipped to the 40s with the rain, making it unforgivably cold. Fans are worried about whether the aged fans found shelter on such a harsh night. “Oh this is bad…. hope they find him the weather was terrible,” yet another fan commented. Lepperd’s age might have kept him from going too far unattended, so that’s something the officials can count on. However, the search really depends on the community so that they can immediately send Lepperd to the care he needs. More hands need to pitch in to help find Jerry Lepperd! “Prayers that he is found immediately,” another worried fan replied to the post. The UI police have already set up a hotline to help report possible sightings of Jerry Lepperd. The longer the search runs, the bigger the chances of some serious problems for the senior fan.
