De Passe, Madison Jones (her partner in de Passe Jones Entertaiment) and Corey Martin, a managing partner at Granderson Des Rochers, are launching Immortal Studio, which aims to be a full-service studio involved in a variety of media, including television, film, animation and games. The company has formed a strategic alliance with Vobile — which provides digital content asset protection and software services used widely in the industry — and its chairman and CEO, Yangbin Wang, on financing. Immortal says it wants to fully finance the development and production of complete seasons of TV series in order to streamline the process of making shows. The company also says it has funding for a feature film slate and has developed several adult animation projects. “We’re excited to introduce Immortal as a next-generation partner for storytellers and platforms alike,” de Passe, Jones and Martin said in a statement. “This studio venture is built to create, collaborate, scale, and execute — and we’re fortunate to launch with the backing of Yangbin Wang and Vobile, our visionary strategic partner.” Said Wang, “Partnering with Immortal and its experienced leadership team enables Vobile to bring our trusted technologies to a broader community of independent creators. Together, we are empowering storytellers to protect their creative ideas, reach global audiences, and maximize the value of their content.” Along with financing, Vobile will also provide Immortal Studio and creators who work with the company access to its platforms DreamMaker — which offers content creation, copyright protection and monetization solutions — and Vobile Max, a digital content trading platform that connects creators with distribution channels. De Passe’s credits as a producer include the landmark Motown 25 special in 1983, Lonesome Dove and its sequels, and Showtime at the Apollo, among many others. She earned an Oscar nomination for co-writing Lady Sings the Blues and was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2024 for her contributions to Motown Records. Jones and de Passe lead de Passe Jones Entertainment. The company has produced VH1’s Daytime Divas and was behind one of President Barack Obama’s inaugural balls in 2009. Along with being a partner at Granderson Des Rochers, Martin chairs the firm’s entertainment finance practice.
