Emergency services were alerted shortly after 6pm, prompting gardaí to establish a cordon around the area. The road was closed from the Five Lamps Junction to the Newcomen Bridge on North Strand Road. Advertisement The Defence Forces Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team then carried out a full assessment at the scene yesterday evening. Following their investigation, it was determined that the device did not pose a threat to the public. The device was also removed from the area. The road was temporarily closed to ensure safety while the team examined the object, but it has since been reopened.
