Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Suresh Raina has given his opinion on whether the franchise should retain Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. Raina strongly believes the Super Kings should retain both the veterans.Jadeja's status has been a major talking point ahead of the deadline of November 15 of the announcement of retention list for all the franchises. According to a report by ESPN Cricinfo, the Saurashtra all-rounder is set to be part of a major trade as Rajasthan Royals are targetting him and Sam Curran in exchange for Sanju Samson. On this, during a conversation on Star Sports, Raina stated:"That’s a call on MS. I think if he is playing this year, he will have to be in the team. Ruturaj Gaikwad will be the captain. They should retain him."When asked about Jadeja, Raina shared his thought by saying:"They should again retain him. I think he is a gun player for CSK and has done really, really well. Sir Ravindra Jadeja should be there."In the same video, the CSK legend also called for Noor Ahmad's retention and release of Khaleel Ahmed and Devon Conway. The auction is likely to take place in mid-December in India.CSK created unwanted history in IPL 2025Chennai Super Kings. With Ruturaj Gaikwad suffering an elbow injury midway through the tournament, Dhoni took over as captain.Contrary to expectations, the Ranchi-born cricketer couldn't work his magic as captain as the Super Kings managed only four victories out of 14 games to finish 10th in the standings. Hence, they would be keen for a good performance not only in the auction but also on the field.Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) had clinched their maiden title this year.
