The 22-year-old has had her fair share of struggles as well, being diagnosed with a rare kidney disease and ruled out event after event until she made a dominant comeback in 2024. She even walked the ramp at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show this year, becoming one of the first athletes to do so. Following her stint, the Hmong-American reflected on her journey and spoke about how not fitting into the conventional mold can also be rewarding, and she wanted the young girls to believe in themselves. "Growing up, I didn’t see many girls who looked like me in spaces like this. To now be here as an athlete, as someone who’s worked so hard to achieve her dreams, it feels powerful.
