Joe Sugg has spoken up about Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman 's unexpected announcement that they will be leaving Strictly Come Dancing at the end of this series, and revealed what he thinks could be the reason the presenters dropped the exit bombshell the way they did. In a video uploaded to YouTube on 27 October, the former Strictly star and his partner, Dianne Buswell , opened up about their pregnancy announcement. They revealed that they are expecting a baby together in a video posted to Instagram. This was the same way Tess and Claudia chose to make their announcement. Joe added that he and Dianne were "rushed" into sharing their news and speculated that the same "annoying" reason he and his partner were forced to make an announcement was the deciding factor for Tess and Claudia too. "We had to announce it slightly rushed," he said. "And I don't know if it's the same reason why Claudia and Tess had to rush their news out - if it was then it's very annoying. "But basically, we had an email on a Friday saying, 'Hello, we have very reliable sources that have told us that you're having a child. It's such lovely news. So we're going to tell everyone this Sunday.'" He added that he and Dianne were going to tell family that weekend anyway, but had to move up their timeline so that they could also tell fans before the news broke. The couple revealed they were expecting a baby in September. The video they uploaded to Instagram saw the couple painting a picture that they then revealed to feature stick figures of themselves with a stick figure baby. Likewise, Tess and Claudia also revealed their news via a joint video on Instagram. In it, the pair announced that they would be stepping down from their roles as Strictly's presenters at the end of the series. They said: "We have loved working as a duo and hosting Strictly has been an absolute dream. We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time. "We will have the greatest rest of this amazing series and we just want to say an enormous thank you to the BBC and to every single person who works on the show. "They’re the most brilliant team and we’ll miss them every day. We will cry when we say the last 'keep dancing' but we will continue to say it to each other. Just possibly in tracksuit bottoms at home while holding some pizza." Like this story?
