Strictly star issues statement after suffering 'worst feeling'

Strictly Come Dancing star Amber Davies has revealed she's been handed a new lease of life after suffering a devastating setback on the BBC competition. The Love Island champion is paired with Nikita Kuzmin this series, having stepped in to replace Dani Dyer, who was forced to pull out after breaking her ankle. West End performer Amber has been forced to confront online hate throughout her Strictly journey , with critics targeting her previous dance background, whilst also enduring the dreaded dance-off before being rescued by the judges. Fighting back against the trolls in a recent chat, she declared: "There is always a million positive messages and a few people who want to say something negative, absolutely. "Everybody's entitled to their opinion but, for this experience, I want to remember it to be the most positive and life-changing," reports Wales Online . "It's my dream to be here, so I want to do everything I can to keep it positive." Speaking about her dance-off ordeal, Amber told The Sun that the narrow escape provided her with a "new lease of life", describing it as feeling like "the worst feeling in the world". She continued: "I've had a second chance, so I want to enjoy it as much as I can. Anything can happen and it makes you appreciate things even more." This follows Amber voicing her appreciation for surviving another week of Strictly. Last weekend, she took to Instagram and wrote: "Still can't believe WE have made it half way through the @bbcstrictly competition really... 6 weeks ago I had no idea how the end of year was going to look for me and with just 1 phone call and 48 hours later I was waltzing on live tv with @nikita__kuzmin that's definitely one of those stories I'll be bringing up around a dinner table in 40 years time. "Working hard on the salsa routine for the weekend of course Nikita hasn't held back and again if you have sent a vote our way and supported our lil team thank you so much." Following allegations of a "fix" involving Lewis Cope and previous stars like Layton Williams, a Strictly expert refuted these claims in an exclusive interview. Dr Kathryn Stamp previously shared: "It's a challenging one because there are certain skills that come from learning a body-based activity, but then you could say the same for sports people, like bodily awareness and balance and control, they're going to have that but that doesn't mean they're going to do well on Strictly, it's not an immediate factor. "It's the same with an actor or musician or singer, they'll have something useful in their job because they are a performer, so they might not have the physical technique from dance training but they'll have something else." She further commented: "You could look back at the history of Strictly and pick out a number of people who have had some sort of dance background and didn't do very well, just as much as you can point out people who did do well... there's just not a clear pattern." Strictly Come Dancing returns at 6.35pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
