Strictly Come Dancing stars Dianne Buswell and Joe Sugg have revealed they have a 'unique' name picked for their baby boy. It was announced last month just a week before the 2025 series of Strictly began airing that Dianne and Joe are expecting their first child. The Australian professional dancer and YouTuber met back on the 2018 series of the BBC dancing competition when they were paired together. Dianne and Joe made it to the final of the series where documentary maker Stacey Dooley and dance partner Kevin Clifton lifted the Glitterball Trophy, going on to announce their relationship once the series was over. Becoming the first pregnant dancer to compete on Strictly, Dianne’s time on the series came to an end last week when her dance partner Stefan Dennis tore his calf and had to withdraw. Continuing to take part in the group routines and provide support for her co-stars, Dianne is expecting a baby boy next year. In a new video shared to Joe’s vlogging YouTube channel, Joe and Dianne asked questions from fans about their impending arrival. Asked by one fan if they’ve picked a name yet, Joe said: “The name that we've come up with, we're not going to share it. We can't really give any clues to it other than I don't really see this name really anywhere. "I know some people who have it as their surname but it's also the sort of name that can be shortened. I'd say it's quite a unique name.” Dianne added: “Apple or pear. It's kind of like Joe, isn't it? Cute when you're little, you can call yourself Joseph when you're older." Teasing that ‘it could be a good sportsperson name’, Joe stated that he’s ‘purposefully not said it out loud’. “Whereas Diane keeps calling him by that name. I do feel like between now and our due date, which is another thing I don't think we're going to share. “I worry that we might end up revealing it by accident. From now on, he's called Derek,” he joked. Meanwhile, Joe revealed his fears that his news would get leaked as he mentioned Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly’s announcement that they’re leaving the series. “We had to announce it slightly rushed. I don’t know if it’s for the same reason as to why Claudia and Tess had to rush their bit of news out. If it was, it’s very annoying. “Basically, we had an email on the Friday saying ‘we have very reliable sources that have told us that you’re having a child. It’s such lovely news so we’re going to tell everyone on Sunday’. We were like ‘what’. “It’s lovely news, but it’s our lovely news to tell. We get pregnancy rumours and articles going out all the time, since we’ve been together,” he noted.
