Stephen King’s latest attempt to dunk on President Donald Trump backfired after sharp-eyed followers noticed he’d been duped by a fake post. The horror author was roasted online Sunday after blasting Trump over a made-up claim that the president had snubbed the future World Series champions. King angrily reposted what he believed was Trump’s refusal to host the winning team — either the Los Angeles Dodgers or the Toronto Blue Jays — only for followers to quickly point out the quote never appeared on any of Trump’s verified accounts. With that, the floodgates opened and the mockery began. “This is what I get for reading something on Twitter w/o fact-checking. Won’t happen again. Other jabs at King included, “I know you write, but do u read,” “You have been duped, yet again, Stephen. When will you learn to look before you leap?,” as well as another message that read, “Oh look, Low-T King is rage posting lies again, must be a day that ends in Y..” King has not retracted his post, allowing more views and greater opportunities for the public to take jabs.
