After first meeting on the set of The Voice back in 2014, the loved-up duo quickly only had eyes for each other and became an official couple the following year. They then tied the knot in 2021 on Blake’s Oklahoma ranch. But throughout 2025, there have been a number of hints that their relationship could be less than picture perfect, and possibly heading for divorce. The first sign came from Blake, who released a break up song in March called Hangin’ On. The tear-jerking country duet is described by Blake online as being about “breaking up but still trying to stay together.” It’s unknown what inspired the sombre hit, as before then Blake exclusively wrote love songs all addressed to his wife. But to add to the strange spontaneity of the release, in an interview with Access Hollywood discussing the song, Blake made a strange comment about his wife. He said he the break up song is “really no reflection of where Gwen and I are in our relationship – I hope.” A few viewers of the interview recording on YouTube seemed to pick up on the remark, with one commenting that the pair should just “break up already”. It could have just been a humorous quip, but nowadays the couple are spending more time apart, so perhaps it held some gravity. Shortly after Gwen released a sad song of her own called Still Gonna Love You, as claims about her marriage continued to bubble from 2024. The song features cryptic lyrics including “You can push me away/ Go ahead and make your mistakes. “I won’t judge you/ Nothin’ that you can say if you want me to hate you. “I’m still gonna love you.” The lyrics also include: “And I know you’re not trying/ To break my heart, but it still hurts the same.” Gwen is gearing up to travel away to perform at her Las Vegas residency, No Doubt, while Blake is reported to spend most of his free time back at the ranch where they wed. It’s been months since the couple were photographed out and about together, putting an end to date nights across the world or even in the city. Their last couple snap was posted 7 months ago on the red carpet back when Blake hosted NBC’s Grand Ole Opry 100th anniversary. That was also in March, when Blake released his break up song. In addition to not being seen out together, the social media posts Gwen and Blake have made about one another have been few and far between, and feature notably shorter captions. When Blake marked Gwen’s 56th birthday on his Instagram, for instance, all the caption said was “pretty girl”. This is a far cry from their past shameless PDA online and on the red carpet.
