Steelers' Aaron Rodgers Gets Brutally Honest Despite Big Win

Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers badly needed a statement win over the Indianapolis Colts coming into Week 9 action. That is exactly what they were able to get. Despite the Colts being the best team in the NFL through eight weeks, the Steelers were able to come through with a victory by a final score of 27-20. With the win, the team improved to 5-3 on the season and remained in control of the AFC North division race. Following two straight losses against the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh needed to get back on track. There is no better way to accomplish that goal than by beating the best team in the league. Aaron Rodgers #8 of the Pittsburgh Steelers warms up against the Indianapolis Colts before the game at Acrisure Stadium on November 02, 2025 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After the game was over, Rodgers spoke out honestly at his press conference. He made a short and strong statement about the offensive play throughout the course of the win. “We gotta look in the mirror and play better on offense,” Rodgers said. Andrew Fillipponi, a popular Steelers’ analyst, loved what Rodgers had to say. “I love this. Tough love. Harshest critic,” Fillipponi wrote on X. Throughout the course of the win over Indianapolis, Rodgers completed 25 of his 35 pass attempts for 203 yards, a touchdown, and no interceptions. On the ground, Pittsburgh ran for just 38 yards on 23 carries, although the team did score two rushing touchdowns. Those numbers average out to just 1.7 yards per carry. Obviously, there are still areas that the Steelers could improve. The offense was able to do enough to win, but the defense had to play a big game as well to make it happen. While it’s good to celebrate the win over the Colts, Pittsburgh does still have work to be done. If the Steelers want to win a championship, they’re going to need to live up to their full potential offensively. There is no question that Rodgers will do everything in his power to make sure that Pittsburgh reaches that level of play.
