Packers, Jordan Love Receive Huge Prediction Following Dominant Week 8 Win

On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers headed to Western Pennsylvania to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers and a familiar old face in quarterback Aaron Rodgers. It was billed as a “revenge” game for Rodgers, who had spent the first 18 seasons of his career in Green Bay and is arguably the greatest signal-caller in the history of the storied franchise. While Rodgers didn’t do badly — he completed 24 of 36 pass attempts and threw for 219 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions — he was outplayed by his successor, Jordan Love, who went 29 of 37 and had 360 passing yards, three touchdown passes and no interceptions. Green Bay won, 35-25, after erasing a 16-7 halftime deficit. For weeks, plenty of people have been tabbing the Packers as legitimate contenders following their stunning trade for superstar edge rusher Micah Parsons prior to Week 1. Damien Woody, a former NFL offensive lineman and two-time Super Bowl champion, said on ESPN’s “First Take” that the Packers will be heading to this season’s Super Bowl — if Love keeps playing the way he did on Sunday. “If Jordan Love is going to play like that, the Green Bay Packers are going to find themselves in Santa Clara in February,” Woody said. Through seven games, he has completed 70.9% of his passing attempts and has thrown for 1,798 yards and 13 touchdowns while having only two passes intercepted. He’s currently fourth in pass completion percentage, and he has driven Green Bay to 5-1-1, which gives the team the NFC’s highest winning percentage. (Photo by Patrick McDermott/Getty Images) While Green Bay’s defense has some room for improvement, it has been outstanding against the run. On Sunday, it held Pittsburgh to just 93 rushing yards. On the other side of the football, tight end Tucker Kraft is making an argument that he’s one of the game’s best at his position. He has 30 receptions, 469 yards and six touchdowns through seven games, and versus Pittsburgh, he went off for 143 yards and two touchdowns. If one wants to make an argument that the Packers aren’t ready to play for the Vince Lombardi Trophy, the argument to make is that their wide receiver room isn’t strong enough. Romeo Doubs is their most productive player at that position, and his 350 receiving yards and four touchdowns don’t exactly jump off the screen.
