Spring Sheep CEO moves to Zespri

Reading Time: < 1 minute Spring Sheep Milk Company co-founder and CEO Nick Hammond is leaving the company after 10 years to take up a new role as Zespri chief strategy officer early next year. He will be replaced by Spring Sheep’s chief operating officer, Thomas Macdonald. Hammond said it has been a privilege to help build Spring Sheep alongside so many talented and passionate people. “Thomas has been integral to our growth from day one, and I’m incredibly proud to see him take the business forward.” The company said Macdonald has played a central role in building the foundations of our business – from the development of the Zealandia dairy sheep breed, to growing Spring Sheep’s global supply chain and establishing its international market presence. “His deep knowledge of our farms, our suppliers, our products, supply chain and our customers sees him exceptionally well placed to lead Spring Sheep into the future.” Macdonald said: “Spring Sheep has built a strong foundation including genetics, farming, manufacturing and brand. “The opportunity now is to take New Zealand sheep milk to even more consumers around the world.”
