An event inspired by Mexico’s Day of the Dead is coming to SiSi, a rooftop bar influenced by Mexican-American culture in the Merchant City. Perched atop The Social Hub, the stylish new bar and restaurant, which opened in August, will host the one-off celebration on Saturday, November 1. The team behind it say it will feature a Trick or Treat card game with prizes worth over £150, a unique cocktail menu and live music across the weekend, with tables available to be booked via their website. They added that guests can expect SiSi’s signature skyline views, late-night atmosphere and vibrant décor, creating a rooftop party inspired by one of Mexico’s most famous traditions. The special cocktail line-up includes Till Death Do Us Part (£11) with Vivir Blanco Tequila, Marigold and Fig Soda, Murder at the Disco (£11) with ABA Pisco, Giffard Apricot Liqueur, Fernet, Spicy Acid (£11) with Bounty Hunter (£11)with Bounty Spiced Rum, Nixta liquor, orange and chocolate, and the Spicy No-Loma (£8) with Almave Blanco, pickled green jalapeños and mandarin soda. Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a centuries-old tradition with origins in Mexico, celebrating life and honouring the memory of loved ones who have passed. SiSi’s weekend-long event will take inspiration from the spirit of the celebration, combining great drinks, music and atmosphere for a memorable night above the city.
