Sheikh Al-Sabah lauds Egypt’s role in achieving regional stability, security President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reaffirmed the depth and strength of the historical relations between Egypt and Kuwait, describing them as a model of brotherly co-operation and mutual respect between two nations bound by shared destiny and common aspirations. President Sisi’s statement came as he received the Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Dr Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel-Aati, and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan el-Khatib. From the Kuwaiti side, the meeting was attended by Minister of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Minister of Finance and Acting Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, Dr Subaih Abdulaziz Al-Mukhaizeem, Undersecretary of the Prime Minister’s Office, Sheikh Khalid Mohammed Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, Managing Director and Board Member of the Kuwait Investment Authority Sheikh Saud Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, Ambassador of Kuwait to Egypt Ghanem Saqr Ali Al-Ghanem, and Assistant Director General for Investment Operations at the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority, Sheikh Abdullah Sabah Hamoud Al-Sabah. The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, said President Sisi welcomed the Kuwaiti Prime Minister and the accompanying delegation, stressed the deep strategic relations binding Egypt and Kuwait, and the historical ties that unite the two peoples He underscored Egypt’s keenness to continue expanding cooperation across various sectors to serve the interests of both peoples, said the Presidency Spokesman. He added that the president conveyed his sincere greetings and best wishes to Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, commending His Highness’s steadfast efforts to advance development and prosperity in the sisterly State of Kuwait. For his part, Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to President Sisi, expressing his appreciation for the distinguished and growing relations between the two countries. He affirmed Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening bilateral co-operation and praised the remarkable progress Egypt has achieved in recent years. The Kuwaiti PM also congratulated President Sisi on the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum — a landmark that reflects Egypt’s rich cultural heritage and global stature. The Kuwaiti prime minister commended the positive contributions of the Egyptian community in Kuwait, particularly in the fields of health and education, underscoring their valued role in Kuwait’s development. Ambassador Shennawy further noted that the discussions focused on advancing bilateral relations and translating the outcomes of President Sisi’s state visit to Kuwait in April 2025 into concrete projects. Both sides agreed to continue coordination and follow-up on joint initiatives, particularly in trade and investment, with emphasis on priority sectors. In this respect, President Sisi reiterated Egypt’s full support for Kuwaiti investments, affirming the government’s readiness to provide all necessary facilities and remove any obstacles facing investors. The meeting also addressed regional developments, with the Kuwaiti PM expressing his country appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal role in safeguarding regional security and stability, and for its tireless efforts in achieving a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. Both sides emphasised the importance of implementing the ceasefire agreement in full and commencing reconstruction efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
